Families who were evicted and who sailed on the above ships are listed below.
However, it should be pointed out that many residents of the townlands died during the worst famine years and are buried in an old cemetery located on the property, some separately and others in a mass grave. Some family members stayed behind and moved off the property and are difficult to trace. Some eventually returned to the townlands and their ancestors can be found there today. The full story of the eviction can be read in The End Of Hidden Ireland by Robert Scally, Oxford University Press, 1995. This site will be dedicated to the memory of the residents of Ballykilcline and to all who suffered under the British tyranny during the period of the great famine. It will hopefully become a gathering place for descendants of those evicted and for others who are interested in their genealogical heritage and who trace their ancestry to Ballykilcline, Kinel Dobhtha (Doohyhanley) or the County of Roscommon.
